A Covington whiskey business has acquired a Georgia distillery to boost its own capabilities in Northern Kentucky. Wenzel Whiskey, a whiskey rectifier in Covington, announced May 11 it has acquired the assets of Ghost Coast Distillery from Savannah, Ga. Wenzel will receive a full set of distilling equipment – including a 500-gallon Vendome pot still and 477 barrels of aged liquor. The owners of Wenzel Whiskey plan to repurpose a facility next door to its existing Covington location to house the distilling equipment and serve as the company's in-house distillery.
